William Byron Expects To Contend In Sunday's Geico 500
4 years agoWilliam Byron showed last year that the Hendrick Motorsports car was quite fast at Talladega. He started in 21st and finished fourth during that Fall race. Furthermore, he was right near the front at the very end. There is a going theory that the Hendrick cars could be very strong this weekend. Byron has only raced six times on the 2.66-mile track but starting fourth could be of huge benefit on Sunday. That may keep the No. 24 out of some early wrecks. Byron is a potential contender to take the checkered flag.
