William Byron Could Pay Off As A Tournament DFS Option For Atlanta
3 months agoHendrick Motorsports driver William Byron nabbed a starting position of ninth after qualifying for the Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It will be the best start position of Byron's Cup career at Atlanta since the track was reconfigured in 2022. In the last five Atlanta races, Byron's results have been boom or bust as he has two victories and led multiple laps in three different events, but also two DNFs and three finishes outside of the Top 15. After 26 races so far this year, Byron has three wins and 13 top-10 finishes while leading in each of the last three Cup events. At four races at superspeedways this year, Byron's results have been mixed as he has two top-10 finishes, including a win in the Daytona 500, but also two finishes outside of the Top 10, including one DNF. Combined with his low upside based on his starting position, Byron's history at Atlanta makes him a risky play. However, Byron's equipment with Hendrick and past performance at superspeedways make him worth having exposure to in tournament games.
