William Byron Carries Momentum Into Phoenix
2 years agoWilliam Byron kept up his fast ways fresh off his win at Las Vegas by running in the top two in 15-, 20- and 25-lap averages in practice and qualifying in the third spot to start the race. Byron was dominant last weekend, leading a race-high 167 laps en route to his first victory in nearly a year. Hendrick Motorsports is asserting itself as a force to be dealt with early in the 2023 season after finishing 1-2-3 last weekend and leading 241 of the 271 laps. Over the last seven races on short, flat tracks, Byron does have a win and four top-10 finishes.
