2 years agoWilliam Byron is one of the hottest drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series right now. He is the only driver in the series with three wins this season. He has led the most laps (596), has the most top-five finishes (six), and has racked up the most stage wins (six). It's safe to say Byron has to be a top target for the win here at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Byron will certainly have an opportunity to get to the front of the field, as he will start this race from the sixth position when the green flag drops.--Eric DeWilde

2 days agoLook for William Byron to be strong in this weekend's Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. In addition to winning the pole for Sunday's race, the No. 24 Chevrolet was very strong in practice ranking fourth-best in 10-lap average. Additionally, Byron has been one of, if not the best at Darlington in the Next Gen era, as the Hendrick Motorsports driver has the best average finish (10.3) and the best Driver Rating (107.2) in the six races here with this car. Look for Willy B to lead early and often in Sunday's Goodyear 400. The Hendrick Chevrolets have been great on the long run all season long, and Byron excels at Darlington Raceway. He's priced at $9,900 on DraftKings and with his dominator upside as well as his race-winning potential, he enters Sunday's race as one of the strongest fantasy options on the slate this weekend. --Jordan McAbee

1 week agoWilliam Byron of Hendrick Motorsports had a largely underwhelming performance during Sunday's Cook Out 400. Beginning the race from the 10th position, Byron would run around his starting position through most of the first stage, but his team would struggle through pit stops all race long. In the first stage, due to pit issues, Byron finished 26th. During the second stage, Byron recovered to the 13th position, but he could still not collect any stage points. In the final stage, Byron's pit crew had further issues on pit road, causing him to restart in the back of the pack once again. The No. 24 Chevrolet driver would not have the speed to make moves during the race's late stages and settled for a finish of 22nd. This would be the second time since 2021 that Byron failed to score a top-20 finish at Martinsville.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

1 week agoWilliam Byron of Hendrick Motorsports will start 10th for this week's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Byron is the only one of the four Hendrick drivers to start outside the top five for Sunday's race. In 14 races at Martinsville, Byron has two wins, which were scored within the last three Spring Martinsville races. He also has eight top-10 finishes and an average finish of 13.3. After six races completed so far this year, Byron has one win, four top-10 finishes, and leads the regular season standings while having the best average finish of 8.7. In practice, Byron ranked 16th in overall lap averages while displaying top-10 speeds in the 10,15, and 20 consecutive lap average categories. Based on his equipment, practice speeds, and recent Martinsville history, it will not be a shock to see Byron maintain a top-10 finish by the end of Sunday's race.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoWilliam Byron of Hendrick Motorsports had a performance of missed potential at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the Straight Talk Wireless 400 as he ended in 12th. Beginning the race from the fifth position, Byron showcased that he had one of the better cars of the field as he ran inside the top 10 through the entire stage. Despite making it as high as the top three, Byron faded back to sixth, still scoring stage points. In the second stage, Byron and his No. 24 team utilized pit strategy to get him to the front, but he ran most of the stage in second place before others on fresh tires passed him. Byron ended stage two in fourth, earning more stage points. In the final stage, Byron kept his car clean and tried to use further strategy, but he could not capitalize on his car's speed and was shuffled back in the pack, unlike the previous two stages. Byron would make it back as far as 12th position, giving him just his second finish outside of the top 10 this season. Byron remains the current points standings leader despite his underwhelming result this weekend.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
