William Byron a Dicey Pick at Watkins Glen on Sunday
3 years agoThe good news is that William Byron does start only 15th at Watkins Glen. The bad news is that the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver is not that great on road courses. He does have one top ten in his last two tries at this track. Byron's last two races with left and right turns have gone poorly. He crashed out at Sonoma and Wisconsin was an afternoon to forget as well. A 35th and 33rd cause some pause given the past four weeks leading up to the Olympic Break saw no top ten results for Byron. Is the magic gone or can the consistency return? We may find out a little more about the No. 24 during Sunday's race but he has become a far more risky choice.
