Will Zalatoris A Golfer To Watch At Genesis Invitational
1 month agoGolf fans will likely remember Will Zalatoris' performance at the Genesis Invitational last year. Not only did the 28-year-old Tour star finish runner-up to Hideki Matsuyama, but he also made an incredible hole-in-one on the par-3 14th hole at The Riviera Country Club to win himself and his caddie new cars. While this year's tournament will be played at Torrey Pines, he could be in line for another spectacular week. At the South Course, golfers will see tight fairways and some of the smallest greens on Tour, and Zalatoris ranks 13th in driving accuracy and eighth in greens in regulation so far this season. He's also had great results at the Farmers Insurance Open in the past, finishing T13 in 2024, runner-up in 2022, and T7 in 2021, and he notoriously raises his baseline in difficult scoring conditions. Zalatoris profiles as a cut-maker with top-10 upside at this week's Genesis Invitational, and he may very well find himself in contention for his second Tour victory come Sunday evening.

Will Zalatoris Back In Action At Pebble Beach
2 months agoAfter withdrawing from the Farmers Insurance Open, Will Zalatoris is returning to action this week for just his third appearance at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. His previous results at this event have been underwhelming, with finishes of T55 in 2021 and T68 in 2018. This week, approach shots from 100-150 yards will be crucial, as 37.6% of all shots into the green come from this range. Zalatoris ranks in the 50th percentile for strokes gained from this distance. His putting has improved this season, but he still ranks just 90th in strokes gained in putting. While his uninspiring course history might deter fantasy managers from rostering him at his $8,400 price tag on DraftKings, his recent form, with finishes of T12 and T26, could encourage managers to take a chance on his upside.

Will Zalatoris Withdraws From Farmers Insurance Open
2 months agoWill Zalatoris has withdrawn from the Farmers Insurance Open before his first tee time. No immediate reason was given for his withdrawal. This would have been his third start in the past four weeks. Zalatoris is another big name to withdraw from this week's tournament with Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa withdrawing earlier this week.

Will Zalatoris Seeking Win At Farmers Insurance Open
2 months agoWill Zalatoris has started 2025 in excellent form, finishing T26 at The Sentry and T12 at The American Express while recording four top-30 finishes in his past five PGA Tour starts and gaining strokes putting in all four events. This is a highly encouraging sign for Zalatoris, who ranked 132nd in strokes gained in putting in 2024. He also has a strong history at Torrey Pines, with results of T13, T2, and T7 in three of his last four Farmers Insurance Open appearances. In his second-place finish in 2022, he gained 7.9 strokes on approach, and in 2024, Zalatoris ranked 49th in approaches from 200-225 yards, averaging 39 feet and one inch from the hole, while also ranking 26th in putting from over 25 feet. Given his recent form and excellent course history, a win from Zalatoris seems imminent, making him a strong pick for fantasy managers this week.

Will Zalatoris Looking To Keep Momentum Going At The AmEx
2 months agoAfter a middle-of-the-road finish at The Sentry to kick off his 2025 campaign, Will Zalatoris comes to La Quinta, CA with his game in a seemingly good position. Nothing was spectacular about his week at Kapalua, but besides slightly losing strokes on approach (-0.29), he didn't lose strokes in any other metric. That wouldn't be as significant in the middle of the season, but the first start of the year for a guy with recent injury concerns makes it more important to pay attention to. It will be a fourth career start at this event for the 28-year-old, as he has made the cut in three starts with a best finish of T6 in 2022. At $9,900 on FanDuel, taking a swing on Zalatoris is never a bad option at that price range.
