Will Warren Spins Five Scoreless Innings
1 year agoNew York Yankees pitching prospect Will Warren threw five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out five in a game for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. His plus-grade slider and sweeper were expectedly impressive, with a combined nine whiffs on 19 swings. Warren began the season with Double-A Somerset, holding a 1.87 FIP and 32.2% strikeout rate in six starts. His 5.22 ERA with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is concerning, but he has allowed just one earned run in his last two starts. Warren is on pace to see a promotion to the majors sometime this season if he can extend this run of incredible starts, making him a stashable starting pitching prospect in redraft leagues.
