5 months agoSan Jose Sharks center Will Smith wants to make an instant impact in the NHL if he makes the team for the 2024-25 campaign. "I have expectations and goals as a player, and the goal is to make the team and be a huge contributor," Smith told Chelena Goldman of NHL.com. After being the fourth selection in the 2023 draft, Smith signed an entry-level deal with the Sharks this past May. He'll be heading into training camp on a high after having a fabulous season with Boston College. Smith led the NCAA in scoring with 71 points (25 goals, 46 assists) in 41 games. Life among pros promises to be much tougher, but the 19-year-old appears fully confident of finding immediate success at this level.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
