Will Christopher Bell Bounce Back After Disastrous Talladega Weekend?
7 months agoAfter a disappointing 38th-place finish at Talladega, Christopher Bell will look to bounce back this weekend when he starts 33rd in Sunday's Wurth 400 at Dover Motor Speedway. Despite never winning at "The Monster Mile," there are plenty of reasons to be excited about Bell heading into this race. Not only did he start the week with the sixth-best odds to win the race on DraftKings Sportsbook (+1000), but he is averaging a fifth-place finish in the two races at this track in the Next Gen car. Combine this with the fact that he has two Xfinity wins at this venue, and we see that the Joe Gibbs Racing star has a history of success at this track that cannot be ignored. Beyond just his history at Dover, another reason to be excited about the 29-year-old this weekend is how good he is on concrete. Over the last seven races on NASCAR's full concrete tracks (Dover, Nashville, and Bristol), Bell is averaging 69.05 DraftKings points, which is the second most in the series. Between his history at this track, his performances on this type of racing surface, and that he has a starting position that provides tremendous place differential upside, the No. 20 becomes a core play in DFS this weekend.
