9 months agoAfter an underwhelming performance in his home state of Georgia last weekend, Chase Elliott will look to get his season on track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway when he starts 11th in Sunday's Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube. Despite starting off the season with finishes of 14th (Daytona) and 15th (Atlanta), Elliott remains among the betting favorites to win the 2024 NASCAR championship at +800 on FanDuel Sportsbook. While season-long expectations remain high for the second-generation racer, these expectations should be lowered entering the Nevada desert on Sunday afternoon. In his three appearances at Vegas in the NextGen car, Elliott has an average finish of 20.66 and an average DraftKings score of just 22.27 points. Even the oddsmakers appear to be down on the Hendrick Motorsports star entering the weekend as DraftKings Sportsbook opened with 11 other drivers favored to finish in the top-10 ahead of him.
