Wil Myers Breaks Slump With Two Dingers
3 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers went 3-for-4 with two solo homers and a double in Friday's rout of the Cincinnati Reds. Myers entered the game with just five knocks in his past 11 contests, but broke out of his slump with the huge evening. The 30-year-old has scuffled to a .250/.326/.417 slash this season with eight long balls, four steals and 46 runs-plus-RBI over 215 plate appearances. Myers had been gradually losing playing time to utilityman Jurickson Profar but the offensive showing could buy him some more leash. Drafted as an OF3, Myers should be viewed as a rotational fantasy player until he demonstrates more consistency.
