Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Chase Briscoe In The Chicago Street Race
5 months agoOn Saturday afternoon, Chase Briscoe qualified 22nd for the Grant Park 165 street race in Chicago, IL. Because this will be just the second street race in Cup history, there is not a lot of information to help us project this race, which means we have to look at other data points when doing our analysis. While the similarities between road and street courses could justify using road course data, in the case of Chase Briscoe, it does not help. Although he did have some success on road courses when he was in the Xfinity Series, since making the jump to Cup, the 29-year-old has an average finish of just 19.6 on this style track, which ranks 23rd in the series. So now the question becomes, will we see the highly capable road course driver we saw throughout his time in the Xfinity Series, or will we see the inexperience that has plagued him throughout his Cup career on this style track? Given his inconsistencies at this level and that he finished 20th in this race last year, it is recommended that you limit your exposure (max 5% of lineups) to the No. 14 in DFS this weekend.
