White Sox Pursuing Jeurys Familia
6 years agoThe Chicago White Sox are pursuing free-agent relief pitcher Jeurys Familia, according to a source. The White Sox are looking to boost the back end of their bullpen, as they currently have Jace Fry and Nate Jones as their top two candidates for the ninth inning. Familia had a solid season in 2018, posting a 3.13 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 18 saves and career-high 10.4 K/9 in 70 outings for the Mets and A's. Seventeen of his 18 closures came with the Mets before being traded to Oakland. He'd have a good shot at seeing ninth-inning work if he landed in Chicago, which would boost his fantasy value back up entering 2019.
