White Sox, Andrew Benintendi Finalize Deal Tuesday
2 years agoThe Chicago White Sox and free agent outfielder Andrew Benintendi finalized a five-year, $75 million deal Tuesday that includes a $3 million signing bonus, per MLB.com's Scott Merkin. The deal represents the largest guaranteed contract given out in franchise history. The 28-year-old will provide defensive stability in the White Sox's outfield as well as a solid bat, as he slashed .304/.373/.399 with five home runs, 51 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 521 plate appearances in 2022 with the Royals and Yankees. Benintendi's strong plate discipline and speed are fantasy assets, although his lack of power limits his fantasy upside.
