Whit Merrifield Tallies Three Hits In Wednesday's Loss
3 years agoKansas City Royals second baseman/outfielder Whit Merrifield was one of the lone bright spots in the team's 5-2 loss to the New York Yankees on Wednesday. Merrifield went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in the game. It was his second consecutive multi-hit game. He has stolen exactly one base in each of his last four games and has an MLB-leading 33 stolen bases on the year. He isn't producing much power this year as he hasn't homered since June 29 and his current .272 batting average is a career-low mark. However, he's showing no signs of slowing down on the base paths and that alone makes him a fantasy stud.
