Welcome Back: Brook Lopez Drops 19 Points At Barclays Center
7 years agoLos Angeles Lakers center Brook Lopez had one of his best games in recent memory, as he went into Brooklyn and scored 19 points in a 102-99 win over the Nets on Friday. Head coach Luke Walton clearly made up his mind from the start to give the veteran Lopez more minutes, opting to actually sub him back into the fourth quarter instead of going with rookie Kyle Kuzma or Larry Nance Jr. Lopez logged 28 minutes and would finish with three treys, three boards and three blocks. The minutes were the highest Lopez has played since Nov. 17, so we're going to chalk this up as a revenge game. Even though Lopez has a very high floor given his upside in blocks, points and treys, the Lakers rotation is completely random and unreliable. Feel free to pick him up in hopes the Lakers play him more, but it's still highly unlikely.
