Webb Simpson Quietly Scores Top Ten in U.S. Open
6 years agoWebb Simpson fired a final round 69 Sunday to quietly movie into a tie for tenth at the U.S. Open. Simpson didn't garner much TV-time, but played extremely well at the tough Shinnecock Hills track. Following an opening round 76, Simpson was able to play his next three rounds in only 1-over par. His tournament total of 7-over was good enough to propel him into the tie for tenth, his best U.S. Open finish since he won the title in 2012. Simpson has had a wonderful season in 2018 and will be a threat to win any tournament he enters. He is scheduled to tee it up in the upcoming Traveler's Championship.
