7 years agoMiami Heat shooting guard Wayne Ellington scored 16 points off the bench in Friday night's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. However, Ellington took 16 shots to get there and was 4-for-12 from three-point range in 31 minutes. Ellington, after scoring in double-digits in seven straight games, has found himself in a mini-slump over the past three games. Ellington is only shooting 31.0 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from long range over that span. That said, Ellington is still an elite three-point specialist, averaging 3.0 three-pointers per game this season. If you can stomach his spotty field-goal percentage, Ellington would be a great help in the three-point category. He'll look to get his shot back on track Saturday against the Detroit Pistons.--Dale Johnson

3 years agoLos Angeles Lakers small forward Wayne Ellington (illness) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Rockets, marking his first absence since Nov. 2. Ellington had started each of L.A.'s prior six outings, with Malik Monk and Stanley Johnson likely to see elevated roles in the veteran's absence. Ellington has served almost entirely as a three-point shooting asset for the Lakers, with just four of his 41 shots over his last six games coming from inside the arc; despite that, the 34-year-old has not cracked into the double-digit scoring column since Nov. 24. Ellington did not travel with the team, which puts his status for Wednesday's game vs. Memphis into question as well.--Jesse Borek

3 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guards Rajon Rondo (ankle) and Wayne Ellington (hamstring) are both questionable to play Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ellington has yet to see the floor this season while Rondo is dealing with some ankle soreness after playing 16 minutes off the bench on Wednesday. Neither have offered fantasy appeal this season and are a few key injuries away from being on the fantasy radar when healthy.--Dale Johnson

3 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard Wayne Ellington (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest. The veteran guard remains day-to-day due to a lingering hamstring issue. The Lakers are hopeful that Ellington can get back into the lineup next week. There is a good chance that Kent Bazemore will lose playing time and touches once Ellington returns. There isn't a ton of value here, but Ellington could be worth monitoring in deep leagues.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
