Redskins Second Preseason Game Passing Recap
6 years agoThe Washington Redskins won their second preseason game 15-13 Thursday. Despite Alex Smith only attempting six passes, the Redskins compiled 245 passing yards. The main QB in the game was Colt McCoy who likely further cemented his hold on the backup job over Kevin Hogan. As for the WR, Jamison Crowder did not show up on the box score but is safely locked in as one of the two starting WR for the team. Josh Doctson recorded one catch but the fact that he played was more meaningful as health is the only real threat to his role as one of the two starting WR. Paul Richardson recorded one reception but seems secure as the team's third WR. Maurice Harris did not play due to an ankle injury which allowed Trey Quinn (three catches) and rising WR Cam Sims (loved by coaches and expected to make the team as a project) to impress as two of the three leading receivers for the Redskins in the game and likely gain ground on Harris. At tight end, Jordan Reed (did not play) and Vernon Davis (one catch) seem safe to make the roster and be factors during the regular season.
