Wandy Peralta Takes Loss Wednesday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Wandy Peralta was charged with his first loss of the season in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies. Peralta entered the game to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning with the game tied, hoping to send it to extra innings. He allowed a leadoff walk to Bryce Harper, struck out Alec Bohm, but then allowed back-to-back singles to bring in the winning run. Peralta has seen some higher-leverage situations this season, but now has a blown save and a loss to his name along with a 4.91 ERA over nine appearances. His lack of production coupled with his lack of opportunity for saves and holds severely limits his fantasy value.
