Wandy Peralta Takes Loss Friday
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Wandy Peralta took his first loss of the season in Friday's 5-3 defeat to the Oakland Athletics. Peralta entered in the fifth inning and got a quick out, though the wheels fell off in the following frame. The southpaw seemed to be close to a perfect relief outing after inducing two outs, but he allowed a pair of base hits followed by a three-run homer to give up the lead. Peralta now owns a 5.32 ERA, though his expected statistics give hope that he can turn things around. Still, with just one hold since the calendar turned to June, Peralta can be ignored in most formats.
