Wandy Peralta Settles At $3.35 Million
2 years agoThe New York Yankees and left-handed reliever Wandy Peralta avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $3.35 million deal. The 31-year-old Dominican southpaw was very sharp out of the bullpen in his second season in the Bronx, posting a career-best 2.72 ERA (2.86 FIP), 1.05 WHIP, four saves and 21.1 percent strikeout rate in 56 1/3 relief innings. Peralta was very useful for the Yankees in relief last year, but he doesn't project to carry much fantasy value in middle relief for the 2023 campaign. In his seven big-league seasons, he has a 4.07 ERA (4.40 FIP), 1.38 WHIP, nine saves and 240 strikeouts in 291 2/3 career innings over 322 outings (one start).
