Wandy Peralta Picks Up Third Save
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Wandy Peralta notched his third save of the season in Monday's 8-6 win over Kansas City. Peralta was part of a revolving door of relievers for the Yankees as they attempted to close out the Royals in the late innings, with the former finally getting the job done in the 11th frame. The lefty put two runners on base but managed to lock down the victory for New York. An unexpected closer, the former Giant only pitched the ninth because the Yankees had utilized their more trusted relievers earlier in the contest. Peralta has pitched to a 4.29 ERA in 21 innings, though he has limited value as he's mostly pitched in lower leverage situations.
