Wander Franco Launches His Fifth Home Run
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Wander Franco went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run during Thursday's 8-1 win over the Boston Red Sox. He took Tanner Houck deep in the sixth inning to give the Rays a 3-1 lead. It was his fifth home run of the season. The Rays rookie phenom has recorded a hit in three straight contests and is hitting .250 (9-for-36) with two home runs and eight RBI over nine games in August. Franco has now reached base safely in 16 straight contests. The 20-year-old is slashing .242/.304/.405 with five home runs, 22 RBI, 23 runs scored, two stolen bases, and a .709 OPS across 168 plate appearances in 2021. Fantasy managers should continue to roll with Franco as he emerges as one of the shortstops in the game.
