Walker Jenkins Caps Off Week With Second Long Ball Of The Season
5 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins capped off a big week by tallying two hits on Saturday, June 29, including his second round-tripper of the campaign. During the week, the number five ranked prospect on MLB.com posted a strong .290/.353/.516 slash line with nine total hits, nine RBI, and a 3:4 BB:K ratio. After missing most of the season with a hamstring injury, Jenkins has only logged 19 games at Single-A and posted a .239/.333/.373 line. However, he has begun to find his footing in the batter's box so dynasty managers should expect him to raise his batting ratios significantly through July. The former fifth overall selection in last year's draft logged 12 games at Single-A last summer and posted a stellar .392/.446/.608 slash line with one long ball and 10 RBI. The 19-year-old outfielder is a budding superstar and will be a name to keep a close eye on as he progresses through the minor leagues.
