Walker Buehler's Early Start This Spring Could Pay Dividends
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler is on the mound earlier this spring than in the buildup to past seasons. Buehler made his first spring start on Tuesday against the Giants, as he needed just 24 pitches to navigate through two scoreless innings. The 26-year-old right-hander's fastball was clocked at 93 MPH, down from 96.8 MPH last season, though that can be attributed to his early start. Speaking of which, Buehler has had delays in each of the last two preseasons, which certainly affected his longevity in games later on in the season. Buehler is in the second tier of fantasy starters, but his career 3.23 FIP and 22.3 career K-BB rate make him a fine choice inside the top-20 picks.
