Walker Buehler Will Start Mexican Series On Friday Versus Padres
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter and top pitching prospect Walker Buehler will take the mound against the "home team" San Diego Padres on Friday in Monterrey, Mexico. Buehler has gone five innings in each of his first two career starts this year and punched out 11 batters while walking four (three were in his first start). He's given up only two earned runs, both in one inning against the Giants. He's induced a lot of weak contact and is a good bet to handle the Padres easily. His fastball tops 100 mph and he's among the league's top throwing prospects. His only downside is his innings limit, likely around 150, due to his rookie status and Tommy John injury three seasons ago. But with Wednesday night's injury to Hyun-Jin Ryu and the loss of Corey Seager for the season, the team might be pulling out all the stops from here on out. Buehler will be a rotation mainstay for the foreseeable future. See what his owner thinks and grab him for the long haul.
