Walker Buehler Dominates In First Cactus Outing
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers top pitching prospect Walker Buehler was absolutely dominant in his first Cactus League appearance on Saturday against the Cubs. In two innings of relief work, Buehler struck out five batters and gave up one hit while walking none. Granted, none of the Cubs regulars (aside from Addison Russell and Ian Happ) played. But both the process and results were encouraging. His first two pitches were clocked at 97 and 99 mph, and he mixed his pitches well. Buehler had gotten off to a slow start this spring because of a minor back injury in the offseason. He is three years away from Tommy John surgery and the Dodgers will need the very best version of him for the playoffs. He's a must-own in dynasty formats and a must-stash for anyone playing in leagues with bench space.
