Wade Davis Picks Up Second Save
6 years agoColorado Rockies closer Wade Davis welcomed a new week with another save. It had been a full seven days since Davis last got a save opportunity, and he made it a little exciting by allowing two runners on and striking out no one, but he eventually got the job done. Davis is a bit of a wild card at this point because his strikeout rate has fallen for years (along with his velocity), but this season he has spiked it back up at the expense of a sky-high walk rate. Then a week ago he shifted back to his old approach of not being able to strike out many guys while not walking as many either. With how sporadic his work has been, it's not easy to predict his season yet. Owners should hold onto him, but prospective ones probably shouldn't pursue Davis yet.
