Wade Davis Is First NL Pitcher To 20 Saves
6 years agoThe Colorado Rockies bullpen has been exciting for most of the wrong reasons this season, but closer Wade Davis continues to mow down save opportunities. On Wednesday, Davis slammed the door on the Reds to tally his 20th save of the season, becoming the first pitcher in the National League to the milestone. Davis only trails Edwin Diaz (21) in the majors, and he's now got a two-save lead on the next highest closer in the NL. Davis is showing that his new digs fit him fine, and he's still one of the league's premiere closers.
