2 years agoCincinnati Reds starter Vladimir Gutierrez (elbow) was placed on the 60-day injured list on Wednesday morning. The move was made in order to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for fellow pitcher Bennett Sousa, who the Reds claimed off waivers from the Chicago White Sox. Gutierrez pitched to a 7.61 ERA, a 6.82 FIP, 29 strikeouts, and 24 walks in 36.2 innings for Cincinnati last season, making 10 appearances, eight of which were starts. All told, the 26-year-old has made 32 starts for the National League Central club dating back to the start of the 2021 season. He owns a lifetime 5.44 ERA and a 5.40 FIP in 150.2 career Major League innings The right-hander previously underwent Tommy John surgery this past July.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
