1 year agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez (elbow) pitched in a simulated game on Tuesday and is scheduled to throw an inning in the Arizona Complex League later this week. Although Gutierrez is a starter, he's being prepared for a bullpen role this season and could return as a starter in 2024. The 27-year-old had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on July 20 of last year. "He's getting towards the end of this whole process," Bell said July 25. "Hopefully we'll be seeing him -- definitely before the end of the year -- but hopefully everything stays on track because he's doing great." Gutierrez won't really have much fantasy value in a relief role for the Reds down the stretch, whenever he's able to return.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
