Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Slugs 24th Homer
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. retook the major league lead in homers on Thursday, punishing an Adam Plutko offering over the right field bleachers for his 24th long ball of the season. The 438' shot was of the solo variety as he finished the game going 1-for-4 with two runs in the team's 9-0 win. The 22-year-old still leads all the Triple Crown categories with a .338 BA and 61 RBI, plus his 57 runs scored are good enough to tie him for second in the AL behind teammate Bo Bichette. Guerrero has undoubtedly lived up to his prospect hype in 2021, it's just a matter of how gaudy his year-end numbers will actually look.
