Vince Velasquez Roughed Up In Defeat
7 years agoBeginning a series against the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday night, the Philadelphia Phillies sent Vince Velasquez to the mound. The 25-year-old suffered his first poor start of the month, failing to go at least six innings and conceding four runs, his most since his season debut in March. The club was coming off four consecutive wins against the Pirates, having last lost on Velasquez’s last start. On Tuesday, he went just 4 2/3 innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out six but allowing two home runs. HIs next start is currently scheduled for Sunday afternoon, once again against the Braves.
