11 months agoMinnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed on Monday that quarterback Nick Mullens will make the start in Week 16 on Sunday against the division-rival Detroit Lions. Mullens earned a second straight start by throwing for 303 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-24 overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday, although he did also have two costly interceptions. The 28-year-old did enough to convince the Vikings coaching staff that he's still the better option over Joshua Dobbs under center as the team fights for a chance at the postseason. The Lions defense has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game (22.7) to opposing quarterbacks in the last five weeks, so Mullens will certainly have some streaming appeal in two-QB superflex leagues for those in need of help at the position.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
