50 seconds agoThe Minnesota Vikings and Pro Bowl cornerback Byron Murphy agreed to terms on a three-year, $66 million deal ($22 million per year) on Monday, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Murphy will remain in Minnesota and will be handsomely rewarded after his breakout 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old former second-round pick (33rd overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019 out of the University of Washington had a career-high 81 tackles (62 solo), six tackles for loss, a career-high six interceptions, 14 pass breakups and a forced fumble in 17 regular-season starts in 2024 in his second year in Minnesota. For his efforts a season ago, Murphy becomes the third-highest-paid cornerback in the league, behind only Jalen Ramsey and Patrick Surtain. Murphy will be looking to remain a ball-hawking defensive back for the Vikings under defensive coordinator Brian Flores in 2025.
