Victor Gonzalez Placed On The Injured List
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Victor Gonzalez (foot) was placed on the 10-day injured list due to left plantar fasciitis on Thursday. The Dodgers recalled fellow reliever Garrett Cleavinger to the active roster. Gonzalez has been a quality bullpen option for the Dodgers with a 2.57 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 28 innings. He has also walked 15 batters. The reliever has also been a quality bullpen option for fantasy managers in leagues where holds are part of the scoring. Only A.J. Minter, Andrew Chafin and teammate Blake Treinen have more holds than Gonzalez so far in 2021. If you're looking for a replacement for Gonzalez, Dodgers reliever Jimmy Nelson might be a player to add. The 32-year-old ranks third on the team with six holds in 25 appearances and could step into a high-leverage setup role alongside Treinen. Nelson has also pitched to a 2.00 ERA while striking out 41 batters and walking 13 in his 27 innings.
