Vaughn Grissom Hits Over The Weekend
6 months agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Vaughn Grissom (hamstring) hit indoors on Saturday, according to manager Alex Cora. Grissom missed the first 32 games of the season with a left-hamstring strain and then injured his right hamstring running out a grounder to third base on June 1. An MRI exam on the right-handed hitter showed a mild strain of his right hamstring. "We need to make sure that we're addressing what is pulling on the hamstring or whatever potentially is underlying and contributing to the hamstring injuries. But we'll kind of work to rehab him and get him on the field as soon as we can," chiefs baseball officer Craig Breslow said. It's good news that the 23-year-old's newest hammy injury isn't serious, but fantasy managers are quickly losing patience. With Romy Gonzalez (hamstring) also out, Enmanuel Valdez is seeing most of the playing time at the keystone in Boston.
