Vaughn Grissom Could Make Season Debut Friday
7 months agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that the team is hopeful that middle infielder Vaughn Grissom (hamstring, illness) will be able to make his season debut on Friday against the Minnesota Twins. Grissom was set to come off the injured list to make his 2024 debut on Tuesday, but he came down with the flu and had to be pushed back. The 23-year-old has yet to play in the big leagues this year, but when he joins the club, he's expected to be Boston's primary second baseman. The former 11th-round selection of the Atlanta Braves in 2019 has looked good at the plate the last two years in 64 games for the Braves, slashing .287/.339/.407 with five home runs, 27 RBI and five stolen bases. Pick him up off the waiver wire immediately if he's available in your fantasy league.
