Tyron Johnson Misses Practice On Tuesday
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tyron Johnson (foot/ankle) sat out during Tuesday's practice. It appeared to just be a maintenance day for the second-year wide receiver, with him being on the field to cheer on his teammates. Johnson is one of the hotter names for those looking at sleepers this season and he is competing with wide receivers Jalen Guyton and rookie Josh Palmer for the No. 3 wide receiver spot. Former Saints offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi will be calling the plays this season for the Chargers and his offensive play calling along with quarterback Justin Herbert and an improved offensive line should lead to big numbers for many members of the Chargers offense in 2021. Johnson caught 20 balls for 398 yards to go along with three touchdowns in and averaged 19.9 yards per catch in 12 games during his rookie year. Whoever wins the battle for the No. 3 spot of Johnson, Guyton and Palmer will be worth a late-round investment in what should be one of the more dynamic offenses this season.
