Tyrod Taylor Attempts just Nine Passes in Preseason Finale
3 years agoHouston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor completed 6 of 9 passes for 31 yards with one fumble in Saturday's loss to the Buccaneers. Taylor saw the most action he's seen so far this preseason, playing three series and attempting a preseason-high nine passes before giving way to rookie Davis Mills in the second quarter. The 32-year-old signal-caller is slated for a full-time starting role for the first time since the 2017 season when he started 14 games for Buffalo, totaling 2799 passing yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 427 yards with four scores. Taylor's rushing ability will keep him in the QB2 discussion, though his upside in the Houston offense is virtually nonexistent given their lack of true, difference-making skill position players.
