Tyrion Davis-Price Gets Opportunity In Week 2
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Tyrion Davis-Price gained 33 yards on 14 carries in the Niners' 27-7 rout of the Seattle Seahawks Week 2. Twenty of his yards came on one big gain. If you take that out of the picture, he was only averaging one yard per carry on the rest of his rushing attempts. The 21-year-old rookie was drafted in the third-round out of LSU and was considered by some a possible sleeper candidate in coach Kyle Shanahan's ever-changing backfield. If he is to breakout, it will have to wait, especially considering starter Jeff Wilson Jr. had a productive game. What was encouraging was his usage. His 14 carries were second-most on the team and 14 more than fellow rookie RB Jordan Mason. Davis-Price is not worth picking up now, but it is worth keeping an eye on him and Mason to see if their volume and efficiency might pick up later in the season.
