Tyrese Maxey Posts Career-High 44 Points
2 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey went off for a career-high 44 points in Friday's 112-90 triumph over Toronto. He looked like he had popped straight out of a video game, nailing 15 of his 20 shot attempts and even hitting 9-for-12 from beyond the arc. Maxey also led the team with eight rebounds and had four assists and one steal with two turnovers in 40 minutes. Mad Max clearly enjoyed playing without Joel Embiid (knee), who sat out his first game of the season. Not that he can't shine with the big guy also in the lineup. Both had 31 points in Wednesday's clash with Toronto. Embiid tends to sit out a lot of action over the course of the season and Maxey will get extra usage with him off the court. De'Anthony Melton also benefitted from his absence Friday, entering the starting unit and recording 13 points with five rebounds, six assists and five steals.
