Tyquan Thornton Racks Up 31 Yards In Preseason Opener
1 year agoNew England Patriots wide receiver Tyquan Thornton caught both of his targets for 31 yards in Thursday's 20-9 preseason loss to the Houston Texans. Bailey Zappe connected with Thornton for a 27-yard completion late in the first quarter. The 23-year-old has struggled during training camp. It was good to see Thornton make a massive play in his first game of preseason action. He is competing with JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne, and Demario Douglas for wide receiver targets. Thornton caught 22 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns over 13 games in 2022. The Baylor product has elite speed and a chance to make an impact as New England's top deep threat, making Thornton mainly an option in deep-league formats.
