6 years agoNew York Yankees second baseman Tyler Wade will sit on Thursday against Corey Kluber and the Cleveland Indians. Neil Walker will man second base in his stead. Giancarlo Stanton returns to the designated hitter position while Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner, and Aaron Hicks round out the outfield. Austin Romine will be behind the plate and catch for ace Luis Severino. Facing the Klubot is a struggle for the best of teams, but players looking for fantasy value on the Yankees lineup — which Kluber has dominated through 100 total at-bats — for Thursday might do well to check out first baseman Greg Bird. While Kluber has been efficient against both left- and- right-handed batters, Bird has been hitting the ball extremely hard lately. He has nine runs batted in the last two games alone. Bird — and Stanton, who’s also been hot — might be worth a shot, albeit a huge risk against Kluber.--Mauricio Castillo
