Tyler Wade Scores Three Runs, Steals Base Monday
3 years agoNew York Yankees infielder/outfielder Tyler Wade reached base safely four times, scoring a trio of runs while swiping his eighth stolen base in Monday's win over the Royals. Wade rapped a couple of singles, drew a walk, and reached base on a throwing error, putting his speed to good use. The 26-year-old is off to a hot start in August, as he's 5-for-7 with four runs scored, two RBI, and two stolen bases in five games played. Wade is in line to see his fair share of playing time, with Gleyber Torres (thumb) and Gio Urshela (hamstring) sidelined. So long as he continues to get on base, Wade could be helpful to fantasy managers in need of speed in deeper formats, considering the Yankees' recent emphasis on stealing bases since the All-Star break. As a career .202 hitter, he's more of a short-term solution than a season-long pickup.
