Tyler Wade Recalled To Take Aaron Judge's Spot
6 years agoNew York Yankees utility man Tyler Wade has been recalled on Friday. He will join the team and try to help fill the enormous void left by Aaron Judge (wrist). Judge suffered a chip fracture after being hit by a pitch on Thursday. The Yankees depth will be tested while both Judge and Gary Sanchez (groin) are out. This season, Wade has hit .185 with 10 hits in 54 at-bats, so he hasn't been fantasy relevant in limited playing time. Clint Frazier (migraines) would have been the logical option to take Judge's spot, but he remains on the shelf with no timetable for his return. Judge owners will have to look elsewhere for outfield help. Brett Gardner and Aaron Hicks are also safer options available in many leagues, since Giancarlo Stanton is now the premier outfielder on the Yankees. Deeper league players may consider taking a flyer on Wade and hope the extended playing time changes his output.
