Tyler Wade Earns Major League Roster Spot
7 years agoInfielder Tyler Wade has been rewarded for his strong Spring Training by earning a spot on the New York Yankees’ Opening Day roster. The 24-year-old hit .318 this spring, scoring six runs, driving in two and swiping a pair of bases. Additionally, he was stellar with the glove, playing a position that had been voided in the Bronx following the Starlin Castro trade. Wade played in 30 games for the Yankees last season, struggling to the tune of a .155 batting average. Moving forward, he's poised to battle with Neil Walker for the starting second baseman position, or perhaps platoon with the recently-signed veteran.
