1 year agoNew Jersey Devils winger Tyler Toffoli won't play Thursday for trade-related reasons. Toffoli is a valuable trade chip for the Devils who could help them spark a quick retool. Therefore, they don't want to risk him getting injured. The 31-year-old would be a big add for a playoff team, as he has put up 44 points (26 goals, 18 assists) in 61 games for New Jersey this year. He has also racked up 44 postseason points in 88 games, giving him valuable experience. The sniper should fit into the top six of most teams and could see top powerplay time, potentially increasing his fantasy value.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller

2 months agoSan Jose Sharks winger Tyler Toffoli (lower body) is considered a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. Toffoli recently missed three games due to a lower-body injury and may have to sit out some more action. He is two markers short of posting his sixth consecutive 20-goal campaign and has totaled 32 points in 51 games. Fellow forward Ty Dellandrea (upper body) is also a game-time call for Tuesday. He has missed three games with an upper-body injury. With Mikael Granlund now in Dallas, Dellandrea might find himself in a bigger role once he is back in the lineup.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 months agoSan Jose Sharks winger Tyler Toffoli (lower body) will be back in action on Thursday against the Nashville Predators. He will return from a three-game absence to a second-line role, linking up with William Eklund and Macklin Celebrini. Toffoli had started to heat up before getting hurt, scoring in back-to-back games and notching four points in two contests. He has bagged 30 points (17 goals, 13 assists) in 47 across the campaign. Nashville has been below par defensively all season, which gives Toffoli a good chance to continue his recent upturn in form.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 months agoSan Jose Sharks winger Tyler Toffoli (lower body) has been ruled out for Monday's contest against Boston. He remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury, missing a second straight game. Toffoli has posted 30 points (17 goals, 13 assists) in 47 games during his first campaign as a Shark, notching a third of the points with the man advantage. Carl Grundstrom took Toffoli's spot in the lineup on Saturday against the Islanders, with Ty Dellandrea getting a look in the top six. Alex Wennberg is projected to replace Dellandrea in that role on Monday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoSan Jose Sharks winger Tyler Toffoli (illness) might be forced to skip his first game of the season on Saturday versus Utah. He's dealing with an illness and is considered a game-time call. Toffoli has had a fine campaign in San Jose, leading the team with 12 goals and posting 20 points across 32 appearances. Fabian Zetterlund is the projected replacement for Toffoli on the first line if he can't play. The Swedish forward shares the fourth spot in scoring on the team with Toffoli, having recorded his 20 points via nine goals and 11 assists. Zetterlund should also get extra usage on the power play if Toffoli is out.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
