4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-handed pitcher Tyler Thornburg was placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Friday’s contest against the Cardinals due to a sprained right elbow. Thornburg had begun to carve out a niche for himself among the Reds’ relief corps with 10 strikeouts in seven innings, even as returning righties leapfrogged him in leverage situations. The ailment likely zaps any fantasy intrigue that Thornburg may have had in deep season-long formats over the final two-plus weeks as he looks to remain a cog in the bullpen heading into 2021.--Jesse Borek
